The opportunity
We're looking for a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to help define, build, and scale Adobe's cloud security capabilities across AWS, Azure, GCP, and private cloud environments.
This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for owning and evolving one or more cloud security domains, identifying and prioritizing risks, developing long-term roadmaps, driving cross-functional initiatives, influencing partner teams, and delivering measurable security outcomes across Adobe.
This is not a heads-down implementation role. While hands-on technical work, automation, prototyping, and software development will be part of the job, success in this role will depend equally on the ability to build partnerships, drive alignment, lead initiatives, and execute effectively within a large and complex enterprise environment.
The ideal candidate can assess complex cloud environments, identify systemic risks, create practical solutions, influence technical direction, and successfully drive security improvements from concept through adoption.
What you'll Do
Own and Evolve Cloud Security Capabilities
Serve as the long-term owner of one or more cloud security domains, such as cloud infrastructure security, cloud logging, identity and access management, cloud threat detection, security automation, or other strategic cloud security functions.
Define and drive multi-quarter roadmaps aligned with Adobe's business and security objectives.
Identify systemic risks and prioritize investments based on business impact, risk reduction, engineering effort, and operational realities.
Drive Cloud Security Strategy and Architecture
Assess and improve cloud security architectures across AWS, Azure, GCP, and private cloud environments.
Evaluate identity and access management, data protection controls, logging strategy, and secure cloud configurations.
Develop pragmatic security strategies that balance security requirements with business needs, scalability, developer experience, and operational constraints.
Influence technical direction and architectural decisions across multiple engineering organizations.
Lead Cross-Functional Security Initiatives
Translate ambiguous security challenges into actionable roadmaps, projects, and prioritized workstreams.
Drive complex initiatives from concept through delivery while coordinating stakeholders across engineering, infrastructure, platform, and security teams.
Build trusted relationships across Adobe and influence outcomes without direct authority.
Represent Security Engineering as a collaborative partner and trusted advisor.
Improve Cloud Detection, Visibility, and Response
Lead efforts to improve cloud-native threat detection and security monitoring capabilities.
Meaningfully contribute to Adobe's cloud logging strategy, including visibility, detection coverage, operational effectiveness, and cost management.
Partner with detection engineering, incident response, and platform teams to improve security outcomes across Adobe's cloud environments.
Build and Scale Security Automation
Develop prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and automation to improve security visibility, detection, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Build tools and workflows that continuously identify cloud security risks and misconfigurations.
Advance Adobe's infrastructure-as-code and policy-as-code capabilities to improve scalability and consistency.
Improve automation throughout security operations, deployment pipelines, testing, and security tooling.
Mentor and Lead Through Influence
Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across Security Engineering.
Mentor engineers and help raise the technical effectiveness of the broader organization.
Promote security best practices and help drive a culture of continuous improvement.
Act as a force multiplier by improving processes, programs, and teams beyond your immediate area of ownership.
What you need to succeed
Technical Expertise
Significant experience securing cloud environments in Azure, AWS, GCP, or a combination of major cloud providers.
Deep understanding of cloud security architecture, identity and access management, logging, threat detection, governance, and cloud-native security services.
Experience securing modern cloud workloads, including Kubernetes platforms, containerized applications, CI/CD pipelines, and serverless technologies.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
Experience building automation using languages such as Python, Go, Rust, or similar technologies.
Strong understanding of software development, cloud infrastructure, and security engineering principles.
Knowledge of security tooling, operating systems, networking, and distributed systems.
Program Ownership and Execution
Demonstrated success owning and driving complex security or engineering initiatives from strategy through execution.
Experience developing roadmaps, establishing priorities, and balancing competing business and security objectives.
Ability to break large, ambiguous problems into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
Strong decision-making and prioritization skills in complex environments.
Leadership and Collaboration
Proven ability to influence technical direction without formal authority.
Experience building trusted relationships across engineering, platform, operations, and security teams.
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to operate effectively in a large, complex, and highly collaborative environment.
Personal Attributes
Ownership mentality with strong accountability for outcomes.
Strategic thinker who can balance short-term execution with long-term vision.
Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and making decisions with incomplete information.
Curious, adaptable, and continuously learning.
