Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Buildings + Places team in Milan. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, coordination and delivery of complex electrical engineering projects across a variety of sectors, including commercial, residential, industrial, healthcare and mission-critical facilities.

This role offers the opportunity to lead technical activities, support project delivery, mentor junior engineers and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of electrical building services systems from concept design through detailed design, construction and project completion.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, drawings and design documentation.
• Design and coordinate power distribution systems, lighting systems, communication systems, fire alarm systems and low-voltage installations.
• Coordinate electrical engineering activities with other disciplines, ensuring successful project integration and delivery.
• Manage project deliverables, schedules and priorities while maintaining high technical standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support their professional development.
• Participate in client meetings, technical workshops and project reviews, presenting engineering solutions and recommendations.
• Support business development activities, including bids, tenders and technical proposals.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, sustainability standards and industry best practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and technical excellence across the team.

Qualifications

 

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical building services engineering, preferably within a consultancy environment.
• Fluent in Italian and English.
• Strong technical expertise in power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and building electrical systems.
• Proven experience delivering multidisciplinary engineering projects.
• Good understanding of relevant Italian and international codes, standards and regulations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Experience coordinating junior engineers and working within multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• International project experience would be considered an advantage.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
• Knowledge of Revit/BIM workflows and electrical design and sizing software would be considered a strong advantage.
• Professional registration or equivalent professional qualification would be considered an advantage.
