Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Engineering team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, coordination and delivery of complex projects, with a particular focus on Mechanical, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems across a variety of sectors, including commercial, residential, industrial, healthcare and mission-critical facilities.

The role offers the opportunity to lead technical activities, mentor junior engineers and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services systems (HVAC, plumbing and fire protection) from concept design through construction and project completion.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical specifications, reports, drawings and design documentation.
• Coordinate mechanical engineering activities with other disciplines, ensuring seamless integration across projects.
• Manage project deliverables, budgets and schedules while maintaining the highest technical standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support their professional development.
• Attend client meetings and participate in technical discussions, presenting engineering solutions and recommendations.
• Support business development activities, including bids, tenders and proposal preparation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, sustainability standards and industry best practices.
• Contribute to innovation initiatives and continuously seek improvements in engineering design processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Fluent in Italian and English.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical building services engineering, preferably within a consultancy environment.
• Strong technical expertise in HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems design.
• Proven experience delivering complex multidisciplinary projects.
• Experience in Data Centres, Critical Facilities, Healthcare, or other highly complex engineering projects will be particularly valued.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and BIM workflows.
• Strong understanding of relevant Italian and international codes, standards and regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Experience coordinating teams and mentoring junior engineers.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Professional registration, Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional qualification would be considered an advantage.
