Altera is seeking a highly strategic and results-driven Senior Director of Business Development, Industrial to lead growth initiatives across the global industrial market. This executive-level role will be responsible for identifying, developing, and scaling strategic partnerships, customer engagements, ecosystem alliances, and market expansion opportunities that drive revenue growth and strengthen Altera's position within industrial automation, robotics, machine vision, digital manufacturing, transportation, energy, and Industry 4.0 applications.
The ideal candidate combines deep semiconductor or embedded systems expertise with strong commercial leadership and executive relationship management skills. They will work cross-functionally with product management, engineering, marketing, sales, and executive leadership to influence product strategy, secure key design wins, and accelerate market adoption.
Develop and execute Altera's industrial market growth strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
Identify and prioritize high-growth segments including industrial automation, robotics, AI at the edge, machine vision, smart infrastructure, transportation, test and measurement, and energy systems.
Evaluate new market opportunities, strategic investments, partnerships, and ecosystem development initiatives.
Build and maintain a robust pipeline of strategic business opportunities and design-win initiatives.
Establish executive-level relationships with key customers, technology partners, OEMs, system integrators, channel partners, and industry consortia.
Negotiate and manage strategic partnership agreements that deliver measurable business impact.
Drive collaboration with ecosystem partners to accelerate adoption of Altera FPGA and SoC FPGA solutions.
Represent Altera as a trusted advisor to senior customer stakeholders, including CTOs, engineering leaders, and business executives.
Collaborate closely with regional sales teams to identify, pursue, and close strategic opportunities.
Influence and support major customer engagements from opportunity identification through production deployment.
Drive revenue growth by securing design wins and expanding Altera's footprint within strategic accounts.
Develop business cases, market models, and growth forecasts to support executive decision-making.
Provide customer and market insights to influence product roadmap decisions.
Partner with product management and engineering teams to align product investments with market trends and customer requirements.
Identify emerging technology needs in industrial AI, real-time processing, functional safety, edge computing, and embedded systems.
Serve as an external spokesperson for Altera within the industrial ecosystem.
Participate in industry conferences, customer events, technical forums, and strategic engagements.
Monitor industry trends, competitive dynamics, regulations, and emerging technologies impacting the industrial market.
The pay range below is for Bay Area California only. Actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, trainings, etc. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related field.
15+ years of experience in semiconductor, embedded systems, industrial automation, or related technology industries.
8+ years of leadership experience in business development, strategic partnerships, product strategy, or enterprise sales.
Demonstrated success developing and closing complex, multi-million-dollar strategic opportunities.
Experience working with industrial OEMs, automation providers, robotics companies, or industrial technology ecosystems.
Strong executive communication and negotiation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent).
Experience with FPGA, SoC, ASIC, embedded computing, AI acceleration, edge computing, or industrial networking technologies.
Established relationships within industrial automation, robotics, machine vision, transportation, energy, or smart manufacturing markets.
Knowledge of Industrial IoT, Industry 4.0, functional safety, and industrial communications standards.
Experience leading global strategic initiatives and cross-functional teams.
