Our Consulting Engineers are an integral part of the Customer Experience (CX) team delivering Lifecycle Services to our customers! We combine the power of Cisco Analytics and Knowledge with the outstanding technical expertise and consulting (that's you) to drive value, innovation, and adoption in our customer's network. We help them to reduce risk, drive innovation, and enhance their network to meet business objectives. We are the customer's trusted advisor and guide, helping the customer understand their network, reduce risks, and take advantage of the technology. We work closely with Cisco Engineering to advocate for innovation for our customer and as a liaison, share what is coming with our customers to help them be the ground breakers of technology.

Your Impact

This role requires you to be self-motivated, flexible and to be able to balance multiple projects at the same time. As a Consulting Engineer, you will help drive the effort to transform our current and future architecture for our customers. In addition to day-to-day customer activities, training and mentoring other engineers will be required. Bring your creative solutions and be an asset to our team!

Responsibilities:

• Work on complex technical solutions and high-priority projects, ensuring that deployments are stable, scalable, and aligned with the customer’s business goals.
• Continue to grow your expertise across the Cisco portfolio while becoming the "go-to" expert in the Mobility domain. You should understand how our products interact with (and beat) competitor solutions in a real-world environment.
• You build strong rapport with customers by being a reliable, trusted technical focal point. Participate in solution discussions by connecting technical features to the customer’s business priorities. You use insights from their current setup to suggest the best path forward.
• Develop and review high-quality project documentation, including CIQs, LLDs, and test plans, aligned with CX standards while leveraging Cisco AI tools to automate deliverables and configurations and ensuring the technical accuracy of all outputs.
• Implement innovative delivery methodologies and provide technical guidance to ensure project quality, efficiency, and effectiveness across multi-functional teams and customer environments.

Minimum Qualifications –

• Bring 6–8 years of expertise in the full lifecycle—planning, design, implementation, and optimization—of end-to-end 4G/5G mobile packet core architectures and 3GPP standards
• Demonstrate deep technical proficiency in packet core nodes (S-GW, P-GW, MME, SMF, UPF, 5G NSA/ SA etc.), StarOS, Cisco infrastructure (ASR55k, UCS, Nexus), and cloud native environments including Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and OpenStack.
• Leverage advanced automation skills in Python, Linux, and shell scripting, combined with AI/ML knowledge, to drive operational efficiency and proactive problem resolution across complex network environments.
• Utilize strong technical writing and communication skills to develop Low-Level Designs (LLD), MOPs, and implementation plans, while serving as the primary technical focal point for customers and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with mobility solution requirements.
• Provide strategic leadership and autonomy by mentoring junior engineers, leading high-visibility projects, and translating global team objectives into actionable technical execution strategies.

Preferred Qualifications (Provide up to five (5) bullet points:

• Ability to influence, motivate and work in a highly cross-functional matrix environment to drive outcomes based plans, programs and execution.
• Hands-on experience with 5G Packet Core call flows and load testing.
• Proficiency in Cisco products like ASR55K, StarOS, VPC-DI, Ultra-M, CVIM, CNDP, CPS, UCS, Nexus, Catalyst.
• Networking Certifications like CCNA/CCNP, Devnet, CKA, RHOSP, RHOCP etc.
• Certifications in AI/ML/Agents/MCP/DevOps.
