The Associate Host Team Pastor leads and develops the volunteer team that creates an unforgettable guest experience to open hearts to the truth of God's word.
At Life.Church, we exist to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ. It’s been our mission since 1996 and has guided us every day. Leading people isn’t just an expectation; it’s a necessity. It’s a cornerstone of our culture. That's why we’re always seeking leaders—leaders like you—to bring your skills to life. We are one church meeting in multiple locations, and we want to help you become the person God made you to be.
The Host Team is a team of volunteers who help Life.Church feel like a welcoming and comfortable place for people. From the parking lot to the auditorium and every step in between, Host Team volunteers help each person know Life.Church is a place they can attend and, even better, where they can belong.
As the Associate Host Team Pastor, you will partner with the lead Host Team Pastor to recruit, develop, and coach volunteer leaders (leaders of leaders) who make the Host Team run every weekend. Your role builds and invests in the volunteers who serve alongside you to create a team people can’t wait to be a part of. In this role, you will also pastor guests who are looking for a home here and lead them into next steps, a spiritual community, and a relationship with God that changes their life.
What You'll Do
- Cast a compelling, inspiring vision for the Host Team through weekly huddles and ongoing coaching.
- Recruit, develop, and coach volunteer leaders, honing their leadership skills and investing in their personal and spiritual growth.
- Empower leaders to own the guest and volunteer experience.
- Provide pastoral care to guests and volunteers, helping people find a home at Life.Church.
- Build community and connection among the team, discipling volunteers toward spiritual, relational, and missional growth.
- Set clear expectations and coach the team to consistently deliver hospitality with excellence that inspires others.
- Onboard new volunteers and guide them from their first serving experience through ongoing development.
Skills Needed to Succeed
- A passion for the guest experience, customer service, and hospitality.
- Ability to inspire and coach teams toward a shared vision.
- Strong relational and communication skills with a diverse range of people.
- Effective at time management and following through on commitments.
- Effective management of systems and operations that provide safety and support for guests and volunteers.
- Self-motivated with the ability to make independent decisions.
- Drive and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- High School Diploma or GED.
At Life.Church, we are passionate about reaching more people in more communities. We hire new team members to begin their journey at an existing Life.Church location so they can learn the culture and systems of our church from experienced pastors already on the team. Our hope is, as we continue to launch new locations, we can send pastors who are ready to lead on day one because of what they’ve learned at an existing location in preparation.

While we unite around our mission, we know unity doesn’t mean uniformity.
