What You’ll Do:
We’re looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join and strengthen our Engineering team. You’ll play a key role in modernizing our backend architecture, helping us transition from a Ruby on Rails monolith to a microservices architecture. You will also collaborate with feature teams, providing technical leadership and support on key issues such as performance optimization, adopting new technologies, and enhancing our service architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Modernize our Backend: Drive the evolution of our backend infrastructure, helping us move from a Ruby on Rails monolithic architecture to a scalable, microservices-based system.
• Support Feature Teams: Act as a key technical resource for feature teams, addressing complex backend challenges such as performance bottlenecks, service architecture improvements, and integrating new technologies.
• Technical Leadership: Guide the team in best practices for backend development, cloud infrastructure, and performance optimization.

You are the right fit if you have;

• Ruby on Rails expertise — Ruby on Rails is one of our primary language, and you’re comfortable working with it in a backend environment.
• Experience with Microservices Architecture: You’ve worked extensively on microservices and understand the challenges of scaling and managing distributed systems but you’re also used to monolithic architecture
• 5+ years of Backend Development Experience: You’ve spent significant time designing, building, and maintaining complex backend systems.
• 3+ years of Cloud Experience: You’ve worked with cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure (AWS preferred) and have experience deploying and managing cloud infrastructure.
• API Telemetry & Monitoring: You know how to effectively monitor and manage the telemetry of APIs to ensure performance and reliability.
• Kubernetes Familiarity: You understand the basics of Kubernetes and have worked with containerized applications.
• Strong Database Experience: You have hands-on experience with an RDBMS, ideally PostgreSQL.
• English Fluency: You are fluent in English (spoken and written), and at least have basic knowledge of French.

Bonus:

• C# Experience: Experience with C# is a big plus, especially for contributing on the backend modernization journey.

Compensation & benefits
Doing meaningful work should come with fair, transparent rewards. The base salary range for this role is € 45,630.00 - € 76,050.00. We determine pay within the range using objective factors, like the skills the role requires, your relevant experience and the responsibility you'll have in this role, alongside internal equity and local market considerations.
This role is eligible for bonus incentive, with your rewards linked to KPIs/company results. We’ll share the full approach with you during the interview process, so you can make a clear, informed decision.

Ce que vous ferez :
Nous recherchons un Senior Backend Software Engineer pour rejoindre et renforcer notre équipe d'ingénierie. Vous jouerez un rôle clé dans la modernisation de notre architecture backend, en nous aidant à passer d'une architecture monolithique Ruby on Rails à une architecture microservices. Vous collaborerez également avec les équipes de fonctionnalités, en fournissant un leadership technique et un soutien sur des problématiques clés telles que l'optimisation des performances, l'adoption de nouvelles technologies et l'amélioration de notre architecture de services.

Responsabilités principales :

• Contribuer à moderniser notre backend : Contribuer à l'évolution de notre infrastructure backend, en nous aidant à passer d'une architecture monolithique Ruby on Rails à un système évolutif basé sur des microservices.
• Soutenir les équipes de fonctionnalités : Agir en tant que ressource technique clé pour les équipes de fonctionnalités, en résolvant des défis backend complexes tels que les goulots d'étranglement en termes de performances, l'amélioration de l'architecture des services et l'intégration de nouvelles technologies.
• Leadership technique : Guider l’équipe sur les bonnes pratiques de développement backend, l’infrastructure cloud et l’optimisation des performances.

Vous êtes la personne idéale si vous avez :

• Expertise en Ruby on Rails (ou un autre langage de programmation moderne comme Go, Java ou similaire) – C# est devenu notre langage principal et vous êtes à l'aise de travailler avec lui dans un environnement backend.
• Expérience en architecture microservices : Vous avez une expérience significative dans le développement de microservices et vous comprenez les défis liés à la mise à l'échelle et à la gestion de systèmes distribués.
• Plus de 5 ans d'expérience en développement backend : Vous avez consacré du temps à concevoir, construire et maintenir des systèmes backend complexes.
• Plus de 3 ans d'expérience avec le cloud : Vous avez travaillé avec des fournisseurs de cloud comme AWS, GCP ou Azure (AWS préféré) et vous avez de l'expérience dans le déploiement et la gestion d'infrastructures cloud.
• Télémetrie et surveillance des API : Vous savez comment surveiller et gérer efficacement la télémetrie des API pour garantir leurs performances et leur fiabilité.
• Connaissance de Kubernetes : Vous comprenez les bases de Kubernetes et avez déjà travaillé avec des applications conteneurisées.
• Expérience solide des bases de données : Vous avez une expérience pratique avec un SGBDR, idéalement PostgreSQL.
• Maîtrise de l'anglais : Vous êtes fluent en anglais (à l'oral et à l'écrit), et avez au moins des notions de base en français.

Bonus :

• Expérience avec C# : Une expérience avec C# est un grand plus, notamment pour nous aider à moderniser le backend
