Privacy policy
Effective 6 September 2026
hire.run is a job discovery site. You can browse everything without an account. This page says exactly what we collect, why, and how to get rid of it — in plain language.
Browsing without an account
We don't ask for anything. Our hosting providers keep standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) that we use only to run the service. Map tiles are served by OpenFreeMap, which receives the tile requests your browser makes. There are no tracking cookies; see “Visit counting” and “Advertising” below for the two things we do measure.
When you sign in
Sign-in is with Google only — no passwords are created or stored. Google shares your email address, name, and profile picture with us, and we keep those in your profile. We use them to run your account and to show your name and picture in the sidebar.
Signing in also lets us keep three things you create yourself:
- Visited applications — when you click Apply, we record that you opened that job so the button can show you've already seen it.
- Saved jobs — your bookmarks, listed on your Saved page.
- Job alerts — the city and role combinations you asked to be notified about.
A session cookie keeps you signed in. That is the only cookie we set.
Visit counting
We count visits without cookies. Each page view increments daily totals (which page, which city was viewed, and the visitor's country and city as estimated by our hosting provider). To count unique visitors we store, for one day, a one-way hash of your network address, browser, and a secret that changes daily — it can't be reversed into you, it isn't linked to an account, and it's deleted after 30 days. We honour the browser's Do Not Track setting.
Advertising
When advertising is enabled, ads on job, company and city pages are served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies or device identifiers to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites; in the EEA and UK you'll be asked for consent first, and you can choose non-personalised ads. You can opt out of personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com and read Google's policy at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. There are no ads on the map, on sign-in, or in your account pages.
We do not send marketing email. The only emails we will ever send are ones you explicitly ask for: job alerts you set up (each one carries an unsubscribe link) and account notices. If we ever offer an optional “updates” checkbox, leaving it unticked means nothing is stored; ticking it stores your consent with a timestamp — and still sends nothing until we tell you otherwise. You can withdraw at any time.
Applications happen elsewhere
Apply takes you to the employer's own site. Anything you enter there is governed by that employer's privacy policy, not ours — nothing you type into an application form passes through hire.run.
Who else touches the data
Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting), OpenFreeMap (map tiles), and Google (identity provider when you sign in). When job alerts go live, an email delivery provider will handle sending them. We don't sell personal data and we don't share it with advertisers.
Keeping and deleting
Account data is kept while your account exists. To delete your account and everything attached to it (profile, saved jobs, visited applications, alerts), email hello@hire.run from the address you signed in with; we remove it within 30 days. You can also ask what we hold about you or correct it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (EU/UK GDPR, India's DPDP Act, California's CCPA, and others) you have rights to access, correct, delete, and object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Email us and we'll act on it.
Changes and contact
We'll post any changes here and update the date above. Questions: hello@hire.run.
